Leaning/learning
A new series started today. I didn’t wake with a plan to do this, as I already have another series in the works. But I’ve been feeling down, weighed down by what feels like an avalanche of scary SCOTUS decisions and nearly simultaneous +Covid tests (we are coming through, and feeling thankful for vaxs and Paxlovid and each other and the family of folx who’ve been checking in on us). I woke this morning with slowly returning energy and had a conversation with myself that went a little like this: “You keep saying that art is essential. You believe that, right? Ok. So live it. Let it be part of the way you move, or are moved, forward.”
So, here I am. Not leaning into, so much as leaning on, this creative process and the leaps of faith/moment-by-moment awareness is requires. Here I get to practice not knowing and showing up anyway. Isn’t that just what’s required of us all if we’re gonna figure out how to both be where we are and build something better?
